Privacy policy

KinoQ is built so there is almost nothing to say here — and that's the point. The app runs entirely on your device and keeps your work there. There is no account to create and no server that receives your projects or frames.

What we collect

Nothing. KinoQ has no user accounts, no analytics, no tracking scripts, and sets no cookies. We do not receive your projects, your captured frames, your exports, or any usage data.

Where your work is stored

Your projects, scenes, takes, and every captured frame are stored locally on your device using IndexedDB — in the browser's storage for the browser app, in the app's own storage for the Android app. This data never leaves your device unless you export it. A few consequences worth knowing:

• Your work is only on the device you created it on — it does not sync between devices.
• Clearing the browser's site data for the app, or uninstalling the Android app, deletes your projects. Exporting is the only backup.
• No one, including us, can recover deleted or lost projects — there is no copy anywhere else.

The camera connection

A webcam is read directly by the device the app runs on; nothing goes over the network. When the Android app connects to a camera on your own local network, it talks to a bridge there (for example, an Android phone or a Raspberry Pi), and live preview and captured photos travel between the app and that bridge over that network. They are not routed through us and are not sent to any third party.

Hosting

The app and this website are served as static files. As with any website, the hosting server may record standard request logs (such as IP address and requested URL) for security and operation. These logs are not used to build any profile of you and are not linked to your projects, which never reach the server.
